Fertility Myths about Men

Myth: Fertility cycles are only for women.

The time of day or year can affect fertility. Sperm production increases during cooler temperatures which would explain why sperm counts are higher in winter and lower in the summer season. Men also have higher sperm counts in the morning which is also when they have higher levels of hormones. Experts still don’t fully agree if time or day of the year affect fertility overall.

Myth: Riding a bicycle doesn’t affect fertility.

The exercise isn’t what is bad for you. Bicycling becomes  a problem when you are sitting for long periods of time especially if you are wearing those tight bicycle shorts, this temporarily raises scrotal temperature which affects sperm production. This is why men who are hoping to conceive should skip saunas and hot tubs. Things you can do to help are taking frequent breaks from cycling and choosing wider and softer bicycle seats.

Myth: Daily sex will increase your chances for conception.

Overall the ability to conceive is about timing. Usually the best time to conceive is on the 11th or 17th day of the woman’s menstrual cycle. A mans sperm can live anywhere from 48-72 hours in the reproductive tract of the female. Therefore having sex daily may to little to nothing in helping with conceiving.

Myth: Only overweight men have problems with their sperm.

Well we know that being obese can affect sperm production it is also known that being underweight can also have an impact. Being underweight means you more then likely have a hormonal imbalance as well as being malnourished. A study done shows that men with an optimal BMI (20-25) had high sperm production levels then those who were underweight or overweight.

Myth: Lubricants don’t speed up sperm.

Lubrication decreases the friction which helps increase the pleasure during sex. However when it comes to conceiving it can be counterproductive. Many ingredients could be toxic to sperm and can affect their ability to move. Saliva and lotions can also have this effect. If you do need to use some sort of lubrication consult with your physician to see what would be the best choice.

Simpsons Quotes 1

Marge: Homer, the plant called. They said if you don’t show up tomorrow don’t bother showing up on Monday.
Homer: Woo-hoo. Four-day weekend.

Ralph: The doctor said I wouldn’t have so many nose bleeds if I kept my finger outta there.

Bart: Aren’t we forgetting the true meaning of Christmas? You know, the birth of Santa.

Grandpa: My Homer is not a communist. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star.

Chief Wiggum: Can’t you people take the law into your own hands? I mean, we can’t be policing the entire city.

Money Saving Tips 76-80

Use simple razors to shave. Instead of spending money on the expensive blades  or electric shavers that stop working in a few years buy the cheaper razors. Especially if you don’t shave that often.

Find out about your job benefits. It may seem crazy but many people don’t even know the benefits to their jobs. Spend time with an HR person. You may find out about entertainment perks or retirement funds or savings accounts.

Encourage your friends to do more affordable activities. Instead of going to an expensive restaurant or movie try to get them interested in a game of ball at your local park.

Read more. Reading is good for the mind and it’s cheap. You can get all the books you want at the library then get cozy and read them without spending a dime.

Take a different route home. This is especially important if there are temptations near by. Maybe it’s a fast food joint or a store where you spend money you don’t need too. Instead take a different route home so you can avoid the temptation.

No More Sunday Poll

It appears that the Poll to pick the next Sexy Sunday girl has not been working. There just isn’t enough votes to keep make the poll week after week. There is a lot of work involved to setting up the poll, uploading the pictures, making the thumbnails, putting the links together to insert in to the post. It’s just not worth doing anymore. The last two polls had 13 and 16 voters. Although there never was a huge amount of voters with the highest amount of votes being 81.

So for now I will go back to picking the Sexy Sunday Girl and posting her every Sunday. This will allow me to schedule more sexy Sundays and not have to put the work into making the polls and waiting for a winner, with only 7 votes.

Hot Tea Causes Cancer?

Iranian researches have come to believe that drinking hot tea may cause throat cancer. They suggest that people wait for drinks to cool before consumption.

Many studies have linked alcohol and tobacco with esophagus cancer and a recent study that has been published in the British Medical Journal suggests that hot beverages that may also cause the same tumours.

If you drink tea at a temperature greater then 70 degrees Celsius there is an increased risk of throat cancer 8 times higher then consumption of lukewarm tea of under 65 degrees.

The study conducted at the Tehran University of Medical Science studied the tea habits of 300 people who have esophageal cancer as well as over 500 healthy men and women in the same area of northern Iran.

Golestan has one of the highest rates of throat cancer but their consumption of alcohol and tobacco is considered low. All of the volunteers consumed more then 1 litre of black tea daily. Participants who drank their tea less than 2 minutes after they poured it were five times more likely to develop cancer then the participants who waited at least 4 minutes.

Though it isn’t clear on how the tea causes cancer, some suggest that injury to the lining of the throat somehow initiates it.
