1 lb hamburger
1-2 mozzarella cheese strings cut in small pieces
Packaged beer-batter mix
Neutral oil for frying (safflower, peanut or vegetable)
Cheese and toppings of your choice
Form 2 equal-size patties. Make an indent in the center of each to hold the cheese. Place the cheese in the dent and cover with the top patty. Crimp the edges together to seal in the cheese.
Heat your deep fryer to 365 degrees.
Prepare the beer-batter mix according to the directions. Take the patty and dip it into the mixture. Place the burger in the deep fryer and cook until the patties inside temperature reaches 160F on a meat thermometer.
Drain on paper towels and serve on a bun with your choice of toppings.
